FOI guide for journalists

On balance, having FOI legislation makes my job easier – believe it or not – and I even support it on principle too!
But the quality of FOI requests from journalists is pretty poor. It means that organisations have to waste time clarifying queries or writing to reject obvious no-hopers (I mean the queries not the enquirers!) And journalists, as well as wasting their own time, end up frustrated – and more – at not getting the information they want.
A bettter understanding of FOI by journalists would work in everyone’s favour, so I’ve started a wee guide that aims to help. This is a first cut; all comments from my 3.7 blog readers welcome.
